The hypocritical family that I have…
I didn’t get in until 4AM this morning. I got woken up at 8. It would have been okay and I could have slowly woken up but what do I get the second I step off the last step?
- You need to make room so your Dad can put in the AC. (Problem; I have a huge bed that can only fit on the wall my windows are on. I have a small room. Not fun to move that shit around.)
- Bring up all your laundry and put it away. (Problem; My bed is in the fucking middle of my room blocking both my closet and my dresser so can’t do that shit.)
- Did you hear back from the school yet? (Problem; It’s the fucking weekend and a holiday weekend at that you tool bag. So no, I did not hear back from the school.)
- What time are you working until tonight? (I never fucking know when I’m going to be working until. I work in a RESTAURANT! I don’t have a set time. It all depends on how business is.)
- Everyone is coming over tomorrow so you have to clean. (Okay…with my room that now looks like a tornado because I had to make sure I made room for my Dad who, will not be bringing up the air conditioners for at least another 3-4 hours.)
- Why are you so bitchy?! (Uhm…maybe because I only had 4 hours of sleep and the second I woke up it was 21 questions. To which answers you already knew!)
But it’s okay. I can get four hours of sleep and be woken up but when everyone wants to go to bed at like 8 I have to be super quite and respectful.
I went to a college where people where shitfaced every night/morning and they were still not as loud as the family I live with.

Why is my Dad’s side of the family so ridiculous?
My grandmother is psychotic. She cannot keep her damn nose out of anyone’s business.
She’s retarded.
She will not leave this whole “Why aren’t you acknowledging your niece/cousin and her graduation?”
Uhm…cause she’s not graduating? I found out she won’t even be done school until February. So let’s have a party THIS May which is 9 months away from her actual graduation date instead of NEXT May which is 3 months after her actual graduation date.
And then of course she’s gotta ask about me and why I’m not having a party and blah blah blah. Uhm…because I’m not graduating yet either? I have summer courses to take. I won’t get my diploma until the end of August. Why would I want to throw an “I may or may not graduate” party?
It’s silly and I know I’ve talked about this before and this probably makes me sound selfish and foolish and childish but if you woke up every day and went on facebook to see that side of the family have their status about my cousin graduating and how it’s such and such amount of days until graduation you’d get annoyed too.
Not to mention the fact that my Dad is on the phone with my grandmother now talking about the whole ordeal was the trigger aspect of this rantpostness.
That’s cool.
I work…a lot. Sometimes 12+ hour days. I make dinner a lot for my family. I clean up my stuff all the time. I pay for groceries at least twice a month. I taxi my sister around and pay for a good portion of her stuff many many times.
So why am I getting bitched at the one day I have off from work and forget to do the dishes? Am I the only person in this house who does them? Apparently so.
Also…since when is it okay to just change the channel on me while I’m watching a movie? And since when is it okay to leave the house for at least an hour and have your TV on and BLASTING so the neighbors can hear it…only to yell at me because I shut it off? I’m sorry…isn’t it YOU who yells at everyone because the lights are left on/everything is plugged in and not being used?
Pretty sure I’m over this shit. Pretty sure I’m going to have to get another job so I can save up and move the fuck out of this house. I don’t even mind living by myself at this point.
My family bothers me.
This time it’s not my immediate family. As in the family I live with. It’s my Dad’s brother and his family. My cousin has been in college for 5 years. No big…things happen…school takes longer.
The thing that bothers me is for the past month all of her statuses have been about her graduating in May. She’s not graduating. She still has 3 more classes to take and won’t have her diploma in hand until December.
She’s having a graduation party already. She hasn’t graduated! What happens if she doesn’t pass these classes she still has to take? Then she’s stuck there for another year. I would probably laugh…which sounds mean but really?
I have to take a course this summer and was eligible to walk in May but I didn’t. You don’t see me going around saying “I graduated!” and throwing a party expecting gifts and money. I’m glad we can’t go and my parents said they weren’t getting her anything until she actually graduates.
What she should have said was “I’m eligible to walk in May with the actual graduates but I will not be officially graduated until December. And THEN had a graduation party.
But that side of the family only cares about money and gifts. They’re the ones who go and steal things from my Papa (who suffered a stroke 2 years ago and is still recovering) saying he won’t ever need them again or that he doesn’t even know it’s missing. When in fact he knows exactly when it’s missing and gets upset because they don’t ask - they just take.
I hate people like that. Grr.
